It's That Time of the Year Again

The 2024 Biomedicine Charity Ball is upon us!

The Program

As you know, Crown Palladium is THE spot for a ball so you can trust that our boujee venue will be decked out ready for the arrival of our esteemed guests. Doors will be opening at 7pm and the ball itself begins at 7:30pm, leaving ample time for aesthetic photography. To kick off the night, we will have the Melbourne University Biomedicine Students' Orchestra (MUBSO) playing some both beautiful pre-dance floor tunes on the main stage. During this inevitably boppy serenade, a lovely entree will be shortly followed by main course and a decadent dessert from the depths of the gourmet Crown kitchen. After dinner, we expect everyone to be hitting the dance floor for a raging set from the Australian jazz/rock band Dear Judy, who will be coming in clutch with all of your favourite ball bangers.

After a hearty meal and solid boogy, the vibes will continue while the night is still young at the after party. Everyone will head to CO. Nightclub (Level 3, Crown Clubs) for an 11:30pm to 3am shuffle sesh, with 300 drink cards to be handed out during the night. If you have a ticket for ball, you already have entry into the AP so no need to worry about buying an AP ticket! If you are planning to only attend AP, you will have the opportunity to do so for a $15 entry fee at the venue. Entertainment for the second half of the night will be Jordy Moir, seasoned New Guernica DJ specialising in party anthems and, of course (everyone’s favourite) Dom Dolla$$$$.

The Raffle

As an attendee, you are automatically granted one entry into our raffle in addition to your ticket. There are three prizes to be won. Firstly, we have just received our reusable coffee cups, one of which will be debuted at ball and find a lucky new owner. In addition, two GAMSAT packages from Gradready will be up for grabs! Both are their ‘Online Essentials Course’ valued at $766 each, providing:

• coverage of the updated GAMSAT curriculum by tutors of 11+ years' experience

• over 5000 practice multiple choice questions with complete explanations

• two mock exam days.

These courses are highly sought after given Gradready’s significant success rate, with their average student sitting in the 86th percentile of GAMSAT results.

The Charity

This year’s ticket proceedings and donations for the charity ball will be heading towards Evidence Action, a non-profit organisation enacting health interventions in Africa and Asia, such as deworming and increased safe water access. By focus on neglected global health issues such as the impact of climate on health, maternal and newborn health, and tropical disease prevalence, Evidence Action improves the wellbeing of hundreds of millions.

To boost our support for this great cause. we will be holding a ‘Spin the Wheel’ at the back of the main ballroom. By spinning the wheel, you can win up to 100 extra raffle entries, increasing your chance at one of our awesome prizes. Spins will be $2 each and we will be taking online/card payments for your convenience.
